Halloween at SCRM

Saturday, October 31st
Why not start your Halloween off with a day at the Southern California Railway Museum?

SCRM will be open for regular operations on October 31st, 2020. Admission to the grounds is free, train and trolley ride prices are $12 for adults and $8 for children – visit our Weekend Rides page for more information on Weekend Ride Tickets.

For Halloween SCRM will be featuring family friendly decorations on our trains and trolleys, and visitors can enjoy Halloween themed music on our mainline train rides.

Test out your spooky or creative costumes at the Museum as you participate in our special Halloween Themed Photo Scavenger Hunt or Chalk Art Contest for a chance to win some prizes (see contest descriptions below).

BONUS CLUE: Join us in the Hunt For Halloween Sheldon!
Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory LOVES Trains! A special Halloween-themed Sheldon is hidden somewhere on the grounds of Southern California Railway Museum. If you are able to find him, snap a photo and tag our Instagram @socalrailwaymuseum with #SCRMHalloweenHuntForSheldon for a chance to win family 4-Pack of weekend train/trolley ride tickets!
Hunt for Sheldon winners will be announced the following Saturday.
Chalk Art Contest
CHALK ART CONTEST: If the spirit moves you – enter our Chalk Art Contest! For $1 you will receive a pack of sidewalk chalk consisting of 3 colors and a designated 1x1ft square with which to create your master piece. Once your artwork is completed, snap a photo and tag our Instagram @socalrailwaymuseum with #SCRMHappyHalloween for a chance to win an SCRM T-Shirt.
Winner will be announced the following Saturday.
Ghost Hunter

GHOST HUNTER: Thanks to an extremely generous donation by the Val Verde Unified School District Police Department we are excited to announce a brand new special activity –

Ghost Hunter! Find a hidden lollipop ghost somewhere around the Museum, show your find at the Museum Store and claim your candy prize bag!
Lollipop ghosts will be replaced throughout the day for many chances to win – please limit one per guest.
In accordance with the Southern California Railway Museum’s ongoing safety initiatives we ask all visitors to observe the following while in event attendance:
  • Wear a face covering at all times
  • Maintain social distance whenever possible
  • Self-assess prior to visit, and do not attend the event if you are exhibiting any COVID related symptoms
